Biblical counseling is walking with others in wisdom and love. It’s an intentional relationship that is guided by the Scriptures and empowered by the Spirit in the context of patient love. One thing we all know is that life is hard and we can’t do it alone. We feel the effects of sin and its brokenness everyday. We all need to be reminded of God’s love and His nearness in times of trouble. If you are finding yourself stuck, overwhelmed by anxiety, grieving over a loss, trying to make a hard decision, overcome by fears, struggling through a difficult season of marriage, or any other significant hardship, come and speak with a biblical counselor who will walk with you during your trial and help point you to the Wonderful Counselor (Isaiah 9:6) who is with you and will never forsake you.
Four Important Things to Remember:
1. The biblical counseling you will receive is drawn from God’s Word – it is done in accordance with and not contrary to any teaching of God’s Holy Scriptures.
2. Biblical counseling, when done with authenticity, is always more concerned with heart transformation than with simply behavior modification.
3. Heart change often begins with changing one’s thinking. Biblical counseling is most effective when individuals are open to listening and thinking in ways that they might not be accustomed to.
4. Biblical counseling is a process that usually requires more than one session. In order to develop change that will last beyond the counseling experience, we ask that individuals be committed to whatever timeframe and process is deemed necessary to bring about spiritual growth and change.
