PHILOSOPHY OF CARE
At King’s Cross Church, biblical counseling is a ministry of walking alongside others with wisdom, love, and intentionality, guided by Scripture and empowered by the Holy Spirit. The effects of sin and brokenness touch us all, underscoring our need for God’s love and presence in times of trial. We recognize that life’s challenges, whether anxiety, grief, difficult decisions, fear, marital struggles, or other hardship can feel overwhelming, and no one should face them alone.
Our philosophy of care emphasizes supplementation rather than substitution. Rather than removing individuals from the foundational structures that support the spiritual health of all members—such as corporate worship and community groups—we seek to provide additional layers of care as needed.
TEAM-BASED APPROACH
Our biblical counselors are here to support you, offering compassionate guidance and pointing you to the Wonderful Counselor (Isaiah 9:6), who is ever-present and will never forsake you. Our primary counselors have received certification from Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF) and Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC). If you are feeling stuck or burdened, we invite you to connect with a counselor who will journey with you through your challenges.
As a ministry of counseling and discipleship, there will be times that we pair a member with a dedicated advocate from our church community to foster accountability, provide ongoing encouragement, and facilitate the practical application of biblical truths in everyday life, drawing from principles such as bearing one another's burdens (Galatians 6:2) and speaking truth in love (Colossians 3:16). The mission is to empower members in their journey of faith by integrating a team-based approach to biblical counseling and discipleship.
As a ministry of King’s Cross Church, we offer:
• Individual Counseling
• Marital Counseling
• Family/Parental Counseling
• Premarital Counseling
