Community Groups & Missions

IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNITY (John 13:34-35; Eph. 2:11-22)

Through the gospel, we go from isolation and disunity into a beautiful adoption that provides us purpose, community and acceptance, as members of God's own household.  And the Lord's family doesn't all look the same either, rather, it is a diverse population, from various ethnicities, cultures, ages, nationalities, etc.  Our sincere desire is that our faith family would display the power of the gospel to bring deep unity and friendships to people with very different backgrounds.  We believe that when the gospel is properly proclaimed and applied in a diverse community, a new family is formed around Christ and His gospel.

COMMUNITY GROUPS – What Should They Look Like?

A major part in establishing gospel-centered community involves our weekly Community Groups.  These groups meet in people's homes to show that the gospel can bring together those who may not naturally spend time together.  A typical gathering includes food, fellowship, sharing, a bible study/discussion, and prayer.  Groups may also partner together for local missions/service projects to make an impact in our great city.

MISSIONAL LIVING

Followers of Christ are missionaries for Christ. God has sovereignly determined our birth date and our address (Acts 17:26) so that we might know Him and make Him known (Mt. 28:18-20).   Our goal is to see all of our members equipped to faithfully engage the community that God has called them to.

MISSIONAL WOMEN

This group is our primary ministry to women at King's Cross.  Our Missional Women gather throughout the year to enjoy times of fellowship, biblical instruction, or missions activities to serve our community and to promote the gospel.  Cindy Cage is the primary contact for this ministry offering.  Below we have several of their upcoming events:

  • MISSIONAL WOMEN FALL KICK-OFF - Saturday, Sept. 8th, 9-11am

  • FALL BIBLE STUDY (Matt. 5-7) - Wednesday, Sept 12TH, 9-11am; running 6 weeks total ending on Oct 17th

  • Christmas Gathering - Saturday, Dec 1st, 9-11am

MINISTRY TO CHILDREN

OVERVIEW

In our ministry to children, we want to have fun, hands-on, and engaging lessons that help our children to understand the fullness of the gospel.  So that they can grow up in the Lord and start participating in church life, even at a young age.  Additionally, our focus is not only to the children themselves, but also to the parents who lead them at home.  We want to help Moms and Dads to feel comfortable, talking to their children about Jesus; to help lead their families spiritually and to cultivate hearts that will be open to receiving Christ.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

At King’s Cross Kids, we want you as a parent to feel assured and comfortable while in worship, knowing that your child is in a safe, clean setting, learning about Christ with their peers. On Sunday mornings, childcare drop-off begins as early as 10am and runs through our morning worship service, for kids ages birth - Pre-K. During drop-off, a qualified volunteer will assist you in checking your child in and escorting them to their appropriate classrooms, where caring teachers will engage them with gospel-centered teaching, games, crafts and songs.

SAFETY

We also want you to know, that your child's safety is among our chief priorities.  Everyone serving in the children's ministry at King's Cross has had a criminal background check.  Furthermore, we always practice accountability in our childcare by ensuring that groups serve rather than individuals.  We also have a system in place for checking children in and out of our nursery and encourage parents to provide us with all appropriate safety information (medical issues/allergies) before their children are dropped off at the nursery.

Membership
Matters at
King's Cross.

covenant-2.jpg

One of our greatest convictions is that church membership matters...  Therefore, we have established a 2-step process for anyone interested in joining our team:

STEP 1

MEMBERSHIP CLASS

The first step in joining our family involves attending one of our informational membership classes.  in these classes, our pastors discuss the finer points of our beliefs, the church structure, our desires for healthy members, and our vision to maximize King's Cross' impact for the Gospel.

STEP 2

MEET WITH A PASTOR

Our pastors want to know every member by name.  And so, before anyone officially joins our church, we want to spend time together getting to know you, hearing your story, and finding out how we can best care for you and your family.
